DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department announced Thursday just after 8 p.m. that it was responding to a structure fire on SW 9th Street and Army Post Road to enforce a traffic closure while Des Moines firefighters worked to put out a fire.
According to a Local 5 photojournalist at the scene, the fire is at Owen Auto, a used car dealership.
Westbound Army Post Road from SW 9th Street to SW 11th Street is temporarily closed as crews work on the fire, DMPD said.
Eastbound lanes have also reportedly been closed to hook up another fire hose.
