DES MOINES – The Iowa State grandstand has been around more than 100 years.
And this year, you’re going to see its new improvements.
They’ve got thousands of additional seats, plus a newer, bigger stage and sound system. The improvements are a big game-changer when booking concerts.
“In the past, with only 10,000 seats, there has been a limit as to how much we can pay an entertainer versus having lower ticket prices and so we’ve stayed away from those higher priced entertainers and now with 14,000 seats, we are able to go ahead and book those higher priced entertainers and still keep the ticket price at a reasonable level,” Iowa State Fair CEO Gary Later says.
There are also new bathrooms and a new concession areas around the grandstand.
