Boil advisory lifted for Granger Thursday, officials say

The notice was sent out at approximately 5:14 p.m. Thursday

GRANGER, Iowa — The City of Granger is under a boil advisory Tuesday following a water pressure loss in water towers, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources said in a press release. 

The city is currently in the process of refilling water towers and flushing the system as of Tuesday afternoon. 

Granger residents are encouraged to boil any water that is used for food preparation or consumption. For showering, laundry, general washing and outdoor use, boiling is not needed.

The advisory will be lifted once two consecutive sets of bacterial samples test negative. A total of five sets of bacteria samples are planned to be collected for the sake of testing.

As of 5:14 PM on Thursday, the Iowa DNR as lifted the boil advisory for the city of Granger.
