GREENFIELD, Iowa — A Greenfield hospital that was damaged in last month's tornado will remain closed for at least 90 days, the Adair County Health System announced Monday.
"While this is not the news that anyone was hoping for, we are continuously working on finding locations for all the services that we can provide," the hospital shared in a press release.
While the building is still "structurally sound", the hospital lost its roof structure and sustained "immense amounts of internal damage".
Adair County Health System is working with construction crews to find a potential reopening date, but in the meantime, health care employees are doing what they can with what they have.
Currently, the Adair County Health System is operating a rural health clinic for primary care services and a walk-in clinic at Nodaway Valley Elementary School. The Stuart Clinic is also available and operating as usual.
The following services are temporarily closed:
- Cardiopulmonary Rehab
- Rock Valley – Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy & Speech Therapy
- Outpatient Clinics
- Specialty Clinics
- Senior Life Solutions
- Radiology Services
- Med-Surg Inpatient Services
- Emergency Department
- Surgery Department
"We are working through finding locations for all our specialty services at this time and will continue to communicate with the public on when and where these will be available," the hospital said in a press release.
