CASS COUNTY, Iowa — A man is dead after a head-on crash Monday morning in Cass County, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.

Officials say a pick-up truck was driving west on Highway 6 (White Pole Road) near 582nd Street when it crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into another truck at around 5:50 a.m. Monday. Both cars ended up in a ditch as a result of a crash.

59-year-old Gregg Scott Cohris of Griswold, the driver of the second truck, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver reported no injuries.

Iowa State Patrol is unsure why the first car crossed the center line. The investigation in to the crash is ongoing.
