ALTOONA – What Christmas Day is complete without some special sampling.
If you didn’t have a lot of time to cook with the family, there were still some restaurants that were open up. One was Prairie Meadows and its Triple Crown Buffet.
The line to get in stretched out the door. Their spread included everything from prime rib to pie.
And though it wasn’t quite an “all hands on deck” situation, lots of workers made it all possible.
“Today we’ll do a little over 2,000 in here for brunch. It takes everyone we have on staff working. Today we’ve got about 75 in the kitchen, and probably 75-80 servers and staff in the hallways working these events,” said Clay Willey, director of hospitality for Prairie Meadows.
The crowd enjoying the lunch buffet was a mix of hotel guests, as well as folks from around the metro.
