2 teens killed after car crashes into grain hopper trailer, Iowa State Patrol says

The driver and front seat passenger in the car, a 17-year-old girl and 18-year-old boy, died on the scene.

UNION COUNTY, Iowa — Two people are dead and another is injured after a car and farm equipment collided in Union County on Friday night, according to the Iowa State Patrol. 

The crash report claims a car headed east on Highway 34 crashed into a vehicle pulling a grain hopper trailer when it entered the intersection near Iris Avenue around 7 p.m. on Friday.

The driver and front seat passenger in the car, a 17-year-old girl and 18-year-old boy, died on the scene. The third passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital. All three teens were from Omaha, Neb.  

The 63-year-old driver pulling the grain hopper trailer was uninjured.
