LAMONI- A Lamoni High School student is dead after a car crash Wednesday morning, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The State Patrol report states that 16-year-old Logan Gilliland of Lamoni was driving northbound on Elk Chapel Road in Lamoni when he ran a stop sign at 300th Street and collided with another vehicle. The second vehicle, driven by 16-year-old Gracelyn Martin of Lamoni, was headed eastbound on 300th Street and collided with the driver’s side of Gilliland’s 1993 Chevy K1500.
Gilliland was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 14-year-old passenger in his truck was lifelighted to Methodist Hospital.
Martin was transported to Decatur County Hospital for injury treatments.
