WAUKEE — Brendan McGuinness plead guilty to murdering Gino Risola back in 2015.
McGuinness was supposed to go to trial at the end of January, instead he plead guilty to first degree murder on Wednesday.
The original murder happened in Waukee back in 2015, the city’s first in almost 40 years.
McGuinness came to Risola’s home and shot him multiple times. He was on the run for over twelve hours. Police found him on the east side of Des Moines later in the day.
He faces a life sentence.
