A reward fund set up for the safe return of Mollie Tibbetts is now over $301,000. The 20-year-old University of Iowa student hasn’t been seen in almost three weeks.
Mollie’s father Rob Tibbetts has a theory: Somebody she knows has her.
The theory isn’t based on anything concrete, just his own feelings and thoughts. It’s been a tough process, as law enforcement have played many details close to the chest as to not endanger the investigation.
And he has a message for whoever that may be.
“Do the right thing by Mollie and let her go,” Tibbetts said. “Let her go and face the consequences for what you’ve done so far, and don’t escalate it any further.”
The investigation is continuing, with Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa reporting that 661 tips have been relayed to law enforcement.
