DES MOINES, Iowa — A multi-vehicle crash has blocked a busy Des Moines intersection Thursday afternoon.

A chase between Des Moines police and a stolen pickup truck ended with a multi-vehicle wreck at a busy intersection Thursday afternoon.

Officers said a pickup was reported stolen just before 3:00 p.m. on Des Moines' northwest side. They said the truck crashed into a utility pole near 44th Street and Hickman.

They said the truck drove away before police spotted it down the road. They said the driver of the truck led police on a short chase, before the truck crashed into another vehicle at Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Hickman Road.
