NORWALK – A new, custom-designed fire truck has been built to meet the growing needs of the city.
Norwalk has seen an increase in call volume over the last 10 years, and a new truck is what they needed to be able to accommodate their resident’s needs. The 2017 Pierce Quantum is larger and more equipped to deal with Norwalk’s growth.
A Dedication Ceremony will be held on July 4th at 1 p.m. at the Norwalk Fire Station. The public is invited to attend this ceremony, which features many traditions of a fire engine dedication.
Acquiring a new apparatus is a source of pride for volunteer fire companies. Traditions include a wet-down, push-in and towel drying the new rig. Cake will also be served afterward.
