POLK COUNTY, Iowa — The Polk County Sheriff's Office says a suspect has been charged with murder in a Friday morning homicide investigation in Runnells.
The sheriff's office said they responded to a shooting a little after 1 a.m. near Runnells. After law enforcement received information regarding a potential suspect, 35-year-old Jacob Cole Harbold of Des Moines was located and arrested by Des Moines police officers around 3:30 a.m.
Harbold is charged with Murder in the First Degree and is being held at the Polk County Jail.
The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Richard David Selby of Runnells.
"Investigators have determined the victim and suspect were known to each other," the sheriff's office said in a press release.
