CLIVE, Iowa — A Krispy Kreme store will likely close its doors "for an extended period of time" after a structure fire caused severe smoke damage, the Clive Fire Department said on Facebook.
Fire crews responded to a structure fire at the Krispy Kreme location at 1880 NW 86th Street in Clive at around 11:10 p.m. Saturday.
When first responders arrived, they could see heavy smoke coming from the kitchen. Fire crews were able to enter the store and quickly suppress the fire.
Crews were on scene for around two hours to make sure the fire was fully out.
The Clive Fire Department said the kitchen sustained major fire damage, but the entire building is affected by smoke damage. The department believes the store will remain closed for a period of time.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
