MERCER COUNTY, Mo. — Law enforcement in northern Missouri has identified the human remains of an Iowa man who went missing more than six years ago.
Sebastian Tyrese Husted's remains were located by a turkey hunter on private property in northeast Mercer County Tuesday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The county is located right at the Missouri-Iowa border.
Husted was reported missing on Jan. 22, 2018 by Centerville police. He was 18 years old when he went missing.
At the time of his disappearance, family said Husted was going to work in Lineville, Missouri, but never returned home.
The Facebook page "Find Sebastian Husted" posted a message after Husted's remains were found, writing in part, "We want to thank everyone for all they have done for us over these last 6 years. We are asking for privacy while we process and grieve as a family."
Anyone with information about Husted's disappearance and death is asked to contact the Mercer County Sheriffs Office or the Centerville Police Department.
