DES MOINES, Iowa — If you're dreaming of warmer temperatures, all you need to do is look ahead to next August: The Iowa State Fair just announced the first artist to perform in the Iowa Lottery Grandstand Concert Series in 2025.
Fair favorite rock-tribute band Hairball will bring its Silver Anniversary Tour to the Grandstand stage on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Known for paying homage to acts such as Van Halen, Kiss, Motley Crue, Queen and Journey, Hairball describes their concerts as a “100% full-on, no-holds-barred, exciting, chaotic, fiery party that you have to experience to believe.”
The show will take the place of Hairball's traditional February concert at the fairgrounds. In addition, Hairball will only perform on the Grandstand stage during the 2025 Iowa State Fair, foregoing performances on other stages as part of the fair's free entertainment.
Tickets start at $15 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6 on the Iowa State Fair website.
The Iowa State Fair expects to announce two additional Grandstand acts before the holidays.
