DES MOINES, Iowa — Another up-and-coming country artist is coming to the Iowa State Fair.
Rising star Jelly Roll will perform at the 2024 Iowa State Fair Grandstand on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m.
"He overcame a tumultuous adolescence and early adulthood to achieve his musical dreams," the Iowa State Fair said of the artist. "This turbulent past has helped inspire some of his most popular songs."
Jelly Roll is a singer and songwriter known for songs such as "Son of a Sinner" and "Need a Favor". While his roots are in rap and hip-hop, Jelly Roll is known for transcending traditional genre boundaries through his raw and heartfelt lyrics.
Jelly Roll's recent pivot to country music is earning him critical acclaim. In April 2023, the artist won three CMT Music Awards. Just last November, Jelly Roll was named New Artist of the Year at the Country Music Awards.
