DES MOINES, Iowa — It may be cold now, but winter won't last forever. If you're dreaming of warmer temperatures, you can look ahead to August: The Iowa State Fair just announced the first two artists slotted to perform in the Iowa Lottery Grandstand Concert Series.
Lauren Daigle and Foreigner will perform on the Grandstand stage on Aug. 8 and Aug. 9 respectively, the first two nights of the fair.
Daigle, a contemporary Christian singer, will make her Iowa State Fair debut next year. The two-time Grammy Award winner released her self-titled album earlier this year, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart. The album's success earned her the title of Billboard's Top Christian Artist of the Year.
Daigle will be joined by special guest Blessing Offor, a Christian pop and gospel singer.
On Night 2 of the fair, rock band Foreigner will bring their historic farewell tour to the fairgrounds. Known for hit songs such as "I Want to Know What Love Is" and "Juke Box Hero", the band has nine Top 10 hits and has sold more than 80 million albums, according to Foreigner website.
Foreigner will bring along special guest Melissa Etheridge, a Grammy-award winning rock musician.
Tickets go on sale for both concerts on Friday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. For more information, click here.
If you're waiting with bated breath for other announcements, don't worry: The Iowa State Fair says two more acts will be announced before the end of 2023.
