DES MOINES, Iowa — For more than 40 years, Mötley Crüe has stunned audiences with epic live performances and numerous rock hits. Now, the band is bringing its unique sound to the Iowa State Fair for the first time ever.
The heavy metal and rock band will perform at the Iowa State Fair as part of the Grandstand Concert Series on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 8 p.m.
Billed as "the world's most notorious rock band", the group has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, according to the Mötley Crüe website.
In addition, the band has amassed more than 5 billion streams, seven USA platinum and multi-platinum albums, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Netflix documentary, "The Dirt".
Mötley Crüe is well-known for their over-the-top performances with highlights including a "drum-rollercoaster" and a flame-throwing bass, though it remains to be seen what stunts they'll pull at the Iowa State Fair.
Mötley Crüe will be accompanied by special guest Pop Evil.
The two bands join what's already turning out to be a stacked lineup for the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

- Wednesday, Aug. 14: Mötley Crüe with Pop Evil
- Saturday, Aug. 17: Ne-Yo with Eric Bellinger
- Sunday, Aug. 18: KIDZ BOP
Tickets for Mötley Crüe go on sale Friday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m.
