The Bandaloni Guy performs at the Iowa State Fair

The Bandaloni Guy has entertained fairgoers for 16 years with drums, cymbals and his trusty cowbell.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Grandstand tickets can be hard to come by, but there's a special opportunity for you to enjoy music for free at the fair.

Local 5 caught up with the Bandaloni Guy whose one-man show has brough energy to the Grand Concourse. 

He said there is no better stage than the Iowa State Fair, a unique platform that makes every performance a privilege.

"I'm the youngest of five children, and I'm the only one in my family that was never given music lessons, and I'm the only one that pursued music as a living," he said.

The Bandaloni Guy has been performing at the Iowa State Fair for about 16 years, becoming a staple for fairgoers. 

"I love the people here in Iowa. There's nobody nicer in the nation," he said.
