Marshalltown fire crew rescues 2 people from Iowa River at Three Bridges Park

Firefighters found one person in a wooded area north of the river, while another person was located at the shore of the river.

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — The Marshalltown Fire Department rescued two people from Three Bridges Park on Sunday, according to a press release. 

The department responded to the park in Marshall County Sunday afternoon after receiving reports of missing kayakers in the area. 

Fire crews brought a rescue boat and a Polaris Ranger to the boat launch area of the park. While on the scene, first responders determined two people were in need of rescue. 

Firefighters found one person in a wooded area north of the river, while another person was located at the shore of the river. Rescue crews were on scene for approximately 90 minutes. 

Both people were transported to UnityPoint EMS for evaluation.
