WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — The West Des Moines Fire Department is investigating a fire that damaged a home early Saturday morning.

Passerby reported that a fire had fully engulfed a home near 8th and Vine streets in West Des Moines around 6:20 a.m., according to Fire Marshal Mike Whitsell. They told officials they believed people were inside the home.
