DES MOINES, Iowa — A man who recently bought a lottery ticket in Des Moines is "Lucky for Life."
Paul Freeman won a prize of $25,000 a year for life in Monday's "Lucky for Life" drawing, the Iowa Lottery announced.
The ticket matched the first five numbers but missed the Lucky Ball to win the game's second top prize. Monday's winning numbers were 15-17-35-40-45 and Lucky Ball 6.
The winning ticket was purchased at Price Chopper, located at 1819 Beaver Ave. in Des Moines. The store will receive a $500 bonus from the Iowa Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
"Lucky for Life" is a $2 game with drawings each night. The top prize is $1,000 a day for life. Other prize levels range from $3 to $5,000.
“My wife had some surgeries, she had some medical issues, and she’s on disability right now,” Freeman said in a press release. “This is really going to go to paying off all of our debt and investing the rest of the money to getting back to where we need to be so hopefully in seven years, we can retire comfortably and retire happy."
