MOLINE, Ill. — It was a sight to see as a piece of the Quad Cities’ history fell to the ground.
Crews brought down a 100-year-old radio tower on Wednesday.
It was built in the 1920’s on the driving range at Moline’s Two Rivers YMCA. The tower hadn’t been used in years.
Inspectors say it was becoming a safety hazard, so it was torn down.
