IOWA, USA — Donald Trump won his third presidential race in Iowa on Tuesday night, notching 55.9% of the votes with 98% of votes counted, according to the Associated Press.
The former president was projected as the winner of the presidential election early Wednesday morning over Vice President Kamala Harris.
Though Harris won five Iowa counties in 2024 — Black Hawk, Johnson, Linn, Polk and Story — Trump was able to flip Scott County (51.2% Trump) that in the past was a Democratic stronghold:
This election, 51.2% of Scott County voters selected Trump, with 47.3% supporting Harris.
Those counties correspond with the most populated in Iowa. According to the 2020 Census, these were the counties with the highest population:

- Johnson
- Black Hawk
