Former Congressional candidate Theresa Greenfield has announced she wants to run for U.S. Senate as a Democrat against Sen. Joni Ernst.
Ernst, a Republican, holds the seat right now and has represented Iowans in the Senate since she was elected in 2014. Greenfield unsuccessfully ran in 2018 for Iowa’s Third Congressional district. She failed to reach the required amount of signatures after her campaign manager came forward, saying that he allegedly forged signatures on petitions to get her on the ballot.
Greenfield worked as an urban planner and then joined Rottlund Homes, where she rose quickly through the ranks and soon moved to Des Moines to lead the company’s Iowa Division. Today, she serves as President of Colby Interests.
