JEWELL – A massive sinkhole in Wright County on a busy stretch of highway is now under construction.
City crews and the Department of Transportation have been working on the hole on Highway 69. Several cars were damaged by the sinkhole. The crew told Local 5 that they will be out here, repairing the road through the weekend.
“There were five cars that passed over the top of the hole and none of them went in it,” said Brad Fleming, a highway maintenance supervisor. “Fortunately, no injuries involved.”
The DOT is expected to maintain the highways and interstates in the state. They encourage drivers to report potholes or sinkholes through social media.
