DES MOINES – Engineers tell Local 5 the project is on schedule.
All the inside work is finished. New improvements include new heating and cooling units, as well as changes that make the building more handicap accessible. People will notice other changes as soon as they walk in.
“What will be different is restoring the historic nature of the first floor so our constituent’s will have a little different experience when they come in the first floor, a little more open and inviting we feel,” said Steve Naber, Des Moines City Engineer.
The next step is to clean the outside of the building. The total project will cost over $8M.
