OTTUMWA, IOWA — Thirteen Ottumwans are in jail Saturday accused of being involved in a major meth trafficking conspiracy.

Around 6 a.m. Saturday, local, state and federal law enforcement authorities executed multiple search and arrest warrants in Ottumwa and Wapello County.

The investigation identified a drug trafficking organization responsible for the importation and distribution of methamphetamine in Iowa and other states.

Authorities searched the residences of Jose Jimenez and Stacey Jimenez, Maria Zaragoza-Ramos and Thomas Villalobos-Cardenas, Wesley Melendez-Landeros and Rose Melendez, Christopher Sigala, Carlos Ramon Mulatillo, Kyle Glenn Reynolds, Michelle Gillen and David Eakins, and Omar and Osvaldo Torres.

All thirteen were arrested and are being held in the Wapello County jail.

Officers seized methamphetamine, cash, drug paraphernalia, and other items associated with the distribution of drugs upon the searches.
