UPDATE –
NEVADA, Iowa — Nevada police say preliminary results from an autopsy show a man found in a burned building likely died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The fire started early Thursday morning at a home in the 800 block of West N Ave. Once it was under control, fire crews found the body of a man in the basement of a home.
He was later identified as Adam William Blazek, 36. Police say Blazek lived in the home with his spouse and children, who where not at home at the time of the fire.

NEVADA, Iowa — A man’s body has been recovered from what police are calling a ‘suspicious’ house fire in the 800 block of W N Ave. Thursday morning.
According to a news statement, crews were called to the home around 3:20 a.m. and first responders found it fully engulfed in flames.
When the fire was under control, they found the body of Adam William Blazek, 36, in the basement. No one else was in the home at the time of the fire.
Police say the fire caused extensive damage throughout the home and is considered suspicious at this time.
“The fire itself is suspicious only because of the markings and indicators that are there,” says Nevada Chief of Police Ricardo Martinez. “We have people on the scene processing it. We’ll make a determination later once we get everything together.”
The cause of the fire is not yet known. Officials do say the fire appears to have spread from two different locations, but they haven’t confirmed that yet.
Confirmation on Blazek’s cause of death will be released after an autopsy has been performed.
The investigation is ongoing.
