April 8 solar eclipse in Iowa: Your photos from the phenomenon

Though no part of Iowa reached 100% totality during the April 8 solar eclipse, photos and videos from the celestial phenomenon are still stunning.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The April 8 total solar eclipse has come and gone from Iowa.

The majority of the state saw, at most, 86% of the sun covered by the moon sometime between 1:45 p.m. and 3 p.m., with Des Moines, Dubuque and Cedar Rapids getting the best view.

Nearby states like Missouri and Illinois may have achieved full totality, but the celestial event was still a sight for properly protected eyes in Iowa.

Here's what we saw in the Hawkeye State.
