Another historic experience for Hawkeye fans who come far and wide to see Caitlin Clark

The monumental women's basketball star continues to draw sold-out crowds while breaking records, making each game a must-see moment.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team drew another sold-out crowd for another historical moment on Sunday afternoon.

As Clark became the all-time leading scorer for NCAA basketball, fans traveled from across the country to experience the special moment.

"Electric, that's the best word to describe it, there's nothing like it," said Simon Glazer, a University of Iowa student.

The environment is like no other women's basketball area in the country, continuing to prove the "Caitlin Clark Effect."

"I mean she's fun, she's joyful to watch, and she's 18 points away from the record," said Derek Leary, an Iowa Hawkeye fan. "I mean what's better than spending your birthday with 15,000 fans?"

Thousands of people spent hundreds of dollars for one special moment from No. 22 that leaves a lasting impact.

"It's been awesome, she's just the best, there's nothing better than her," said Eli Mall, another University of Iowa student.

It was another sold-out arena, with tickets averaging $577, according to TickPick.

Leary traveled from Dallas, on his birthday, to see Clark play in one of her final games in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

"If you've seen the game on TV that's one thing. But to actually be here in person you have to experience it," Leary said. "When Caitlin announced for the WNBA Draft, I was like 'Okay I got one chance, this is my weekend.' It happens to be my birthday and I was like 'Here we go."

Fans continue to say each game gets better and better.

"I love seeing her hit the logo threes," said Vanessa Thomson, an Iowa Hawkeye fan.

The top-10 matchup is just getting the fans ready for the madness come March.

"Exciting, I mean there's nothing more exciting than this and it's not only that, it's a huge game too, going into you know it's now March," Mall said.
