DES MOINES, Iowa — Tucker DeVries scored 29 points and made six 3-pointers to help Drake defeat Indiana State 89-78 on Wednesday night.
DeVries added six rebounds for the Bulldogs (13-3, 4-1 Missouri Valley Conference). Atin Wright scored 17 points while going 6 of 14 from the floor, including 1 for 5 from 3-point range, and 4 for 4 from the line. Kevin Overton had 16 points and shot 4 for 6 (3 for 5 from 3-point range) and 5 of 5 from the free throw line.
Robbie Avila and Ryan Conwell each scored 17 points for the Sycamores (13-3, 4-1). In addition, Xavier Bledson had 12 points.
Drake was tied with Indiana State at the half, 43-43, with DeVries scoring 14 points. Drake pulled off the victory after a 12-2 second-half run erased a seven-point deficit and gave them the lead at 57-54 with 12:25 left. DeVries scored 15 second-half points.
