Ronsiek with 31, Jensen with 22 lead No. 20 Creighton women past Drake 89-78

The Bulldogs fell short to No. 20 Creighton on Sunday.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Emma Ronsiek scored 25 of her 31 points in the second half, Lauren Jensen added 22 points, and No. 20 Creighton defeated Drake 89-78 on Sunday.

The Bluejays allowed only 10 points in the first quarter and went on to lead 40-28 at halftime. Jensen scored 12 points in the first half and Morgan Maly had 11. Creighton made seven 3-pointers in the half, three of them by Jensen.

After scoring six points in the first half, Ronsiek lit it up after halftime. She scored 16 points on 7-of-7 shooting in the third quarter and added nine more in the fourth.

Creighton (8-2) finished with 14 3-pointers in 31 attempts. Jensen made five, and Ronsiek and Maly had three each. The Bluejays made 36 field goals and were only 3 of 4 from the line.

Maly finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Drake (6-4) kept pace in the second half, including a 31-30 advantage in the third quarter. The Bulldogs hit on 65% of their shots in the quarter and Creighton made 68%. Drake's Katie Dinnebier scored 17 of her 26 points in the second half.

Anna Miller had 15 points and nine rebounds for Drake and Grace Berg finished with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Creighton hosts South Dakota State on Thursday. Drake is at North Dakota on Thursday.
