INDIANOLA, Iowa — In-between home games against Indiana State and Evansville, Drake senior Grace Berg found time to get inducted into the Indianola High School Athletics Hall of Fame.
"So many emotions came over me and just everyone clapping just supporting being there," Berg said. "I have a ton of friends and family, my Drake team was all here to surprise me so it just means the world."
Berg played in four state tournaments and was a four time all-state selection, including the 2018 Iowa Basketball Coaches Association’s Class 5A Player of the Year. She's the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,784 points.
"I saw every one of those 1,784 points, it was so special," said former Indianola head coach Bert Hanson. "We have so many good memories in that gym and what a tremendous athlete and what a privilege it was for me to coach her."
Berg and the Bulldogs play Evansville at on Saturday at 2 p.m.
