INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — Caitlin Clark was center stage Sunday as the Indiana Fever made WNBA history again.
The Fever's 91-83 victory over the Chicago Sky became the most-watched WNBA game by any network in 23 years, according to CBS.
The game averaged 2.252 million viewers, up 225% from last year's comparable game window, CBS said. Viewership of Sunday's game peaked at nearly 3 million viewers.
Streaming also saw a huge spike in viewership, with Paramount+ recording its most watched WNBA game ever.
The latest record, however, reflects the growing rivalry between the Fever and the Sky. In-person attendance for the game reached sellout status as fans showed out to watch another Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese matchup, according to the team's website.
“I spent my first six years in Chicago and this was a huge rivalry,” Fever Coach Christie Sides said. “…Two really good teams – two young teams – just trying to figure it out with great players, just getting better every game.”
The Fever moved to 2-0 against the Sky this season, improving their overall record to 5-10 and holding a two game win streak for the first time this season.
The Fever's next game will tip off Wednesday at 7 p.m. against the Washington Mystics. Watch on NBA TV or stream for free on Fubo.
