BONDURANT, Iowa — 2023 was an historic year for Bondurant-Farrar football, as the Bluejays advanced to the state semifinals for the first time in school history.
On top of the challenges that come with winning in the playoffs, the Bluejays had added adversity with injuries to star players. Still, they overcame that for the best finish in school history.
"Due to some of those injuries, some of our underclassmen had to step into bigger roles in some of the biggest moments in the history of our program, said Head Coach Zach Pfantz. "Going to the playing in the dome for the first time, we've got guys that were JV players, you know, halfway through the season, that are now playing a pretty prominent role in the UNI-dome."
That experience gained in key moments could be pivotal for success in 2024.
"We had a lot of guys that needed to step up, and they did." said senior quarterback Jordan Rial. "They got the job done. Now those guys are leaders on this team, so hopefully they can continue stepping to that role and lead us back to there."
Bondurant-Farrar opens the season on Aug. 30 on the road against North Polk.
