EA Sports unveiled the list Wednesday as the release for the highly anticipated video game nears.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Multiple current Iowa Hawkeyes football players will begin as some of the best in the brand-new College Football 25 game.

EA Sports on Wednesday unveiled the top-100 players in the College Football 25 game, which includes four players from the Hawkeyes. Middle linebacker Jay Higgins and free safety Sebastian Castro each rank in the top-40 on the list at No. 16 and No. 38 overall, respectively.

Higgins is also currently the fifth-highest ranked player out of all the teams in the Big Ten Conference in the game. The top-five players from the Big Ten conference in the game are Michigan cornerback Will Johnson, Ohio State free safety Caleb Downs, Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins and Higgins.

Two other Iowa players, right outside linebacker Nick Jackson at No. 86 and strong safety Xavier Nwankpa, finished toward the bottom of the top-100.

Interestingly, no players from the Iowa State Cyclones had an appearance in the top-100 ranked players list. Among the entire top-100 list, 15 players play for Big 12 Conference teams. Big 12 teams with multiple players selected to the top-100 include Colorado, Arizona, Cincinatti, Kansas and Oklahoma State.

Once released, College Football 25 will be the first college football game produced and designed by EA Sports since 2013. Over the past month, EA has continued to release new information about the game. The game's website currently includes a breakdown of each of the game modes for College Football 25.

EA Sports most recently published a lengthy video providing viewers with an in-depth look at the gameplay of College Football 25:

College football 25 will be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S starting on Friday, July 19.
