IOWA CITY, Iowa — Caitlin Clark is on the verge of breaking the NCAA women's basketball career scoring record. Her 32-points-per-game average tells us that it's only a matter of days.
During Iowa's 82-79 loss to Nebraska on Saturday, Clark scored 31 points and now sits at 3,519 career points. She needs just 8 points to surpass Kelsey Plum's career scoring record of 3,527 points.
There's little doubt that Clark will break the record on Thursday, Feb. 15 when the Hawkeyes host Michigan. The only question is whether she'll do so in the first or second quarter.
