DES MOINES, Iowa — The second-ranked Grand View Vikings hosted the College of Idaho Yotes on Saturday with a spot in the 2023 NAIA football championship series quarterfinals on the line.
The first half was a defensive battle and the Vikings led 9-0 at halftime. The second half was a completely different story.
The Yotes scored on their first possession of the second half, marking the first touchdown Grand View had given up since Oct. 21.
After trailing 14-9, Grand View regained the lead in the third quarter. But the Yotes were able to come back and upset Grand View at home 31-17.
With the win, the College of Idaho advanced to the NAIA semifinals for the first time in school history.
