DES MOINES, Iowa — With the season opener just over a week away, the Iowa Wolves have been hard at work developing their chemistry. The team only has a few returners and several new additions.
Despite going 7-27 last season, head coach Ernest Scott is excited about his team's potential based on what he's seen so far in training camp.
After setting a new franchise record for attendance last season, Scott hopes they can reward the fans by taking a big step forward this year.
"The idea this year is to give the people something to come see," said Scott. "As much as we struggled last year, we still set an attendance record and that's, you know, the job that the business office here does. You know, the work that our ticket salespeople, they do a heck of a job, you know, to be able to do that. In Des Moines, credit to the people here and the support that we have. Now it's our job to put a winning product on the floor and do our part so people want to come back, and we can hopefully break the record again this year."
The Wolves open the season at home against the Wisconsin Herd on Friday, Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
