STORY CITY, Iowa — The 2A first round playoff game between Roland-Story and Clarke will be extra special for the Norsemen. It'll be their first time hosting a playoff game in 15 years.
They finished the regular season with a 6-2 record and second in their district.
The Norsemen believe they're playing their best football right now and their four-game win streak certainly backs that up.
"We've worked so hard this offseason to get to this point," senior Christian Chelsvig said. "We've worked day in, day out in the weight room. We've been working together. It's really meaningful because the community backs us up on this and supports us."
With their community behind them, Roland-Story is determined to make Friday the start of a deep playoff run.
"It's definitely exciting," said junior Roland Yates. "Especially being able to say that I've been on a team that did that. You know, just being with these guys, it's just been a great experience this year so far."
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 at Roland-Story Sports Complex.
