Thursday night, Karissa Schweizer stepped on the blue oval at Drake Stadium with one goal in mind. Set a new 5000 meter Drake Relays record. Well she went out and crushed the former record as she crossed the finish line with a time of 15:23.21. Schweizer runs for Missouri, but is a Dowling Catholic graduate, and has run on the blue oval many times.
Other events Thursday included the H.S. Boys 3200 Meter run, and the H.S. Girls High Jump that saw Megan Durbin claim her second Drake Relays Crown as she cleared 5′ 7″.
