IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa Hawkeye baseball fans in Des Moines will have a chance to see the team play in the metro this spring.
The Hawkeyes will play a three-game series against Florida International at Principal Park on May 16-18.
This game will be extra special for several players on the team from the Des Moines area as they get to play in front of their hometown crowd.
"That's about a half hour from where I'm from," said junior outfielder Sam Petersen, who's from Huxley. "I'm looking forward to it. I'll have a lot of people from my community out there. And, you know, it's just kind of a lot of us are from Des Moines, a lot of us from Iowa. So, it'd be cool to, you know, get that experience be in front of, you know, maybe some fans that are more likely to travel to Des Moines than they are [to Iowa City]."
Information on how to get tickets will become available at a later date.
