2024 ESPYS: Caitlin Clark wins 2 awards

"This award means a lot not only to myself, but also to my teammates and coaches I had at the University of Iowa," Clark said in a recorded acceptance speech.

INDIANAPOLIS — Caitlin Clark's list of awards just keeps getting longer. 

The Iowa women's basketball legend and Indiana Fever rookie won two awards at the 2024 ESPYS Thursday night.

Clark beat out three other nominees to win "Best Record-Breaking Performance" in recognition of her breaking Pete Maravich's record to become the NCAA's all-time scoring leader. 

Clark was unable to attend the awards in person, but recorded a video message reacting to the recognition. 

"This award means a lot not only to myself, but also to my teammates and coaches I had at the University of Iowa," she said in the video. "It's special for all of us, it's a special year in women's athletics."

Clark also won the title of "Best College Athlete, Women's Sports" for a second year in a row.

Clark was the most-nominated athlete at the ESPY Awards this year, securing a total of three nominations. Aces star A'Ja Wilson beat out Clark for women's sports "Best Athlete" award. 

Other notable award-winners include JuJu Watkins (Best Breakthrough Athlete), Patrick Mahomes (Best Athlete, Men's Sports) and the South Carolina women's basketball team (Best Team).
