IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa won at home over Washington State Sunday evening 72-43, and Jan Jensen remains undefeated as the Hawkeyes' head coach.
With the 29 point win over the Cougars, Iowa has won all six games this season by double-digit scoring which is a first for the program.
Senior guard Lucy Olsen led the Hawks with 17 points scored, eight rebounds, five assists and a steal. Her season-high in rebounds tied for the team lead with fellow senior guard Sydney Affolter.
Hannah Stuelke continues to be consistent as the junior forward found her 42nd career game in double-digit scoring with 11 points. However, she would leave some out on the court after going five of 14 from the field and one of four from the foul line.
Senior center Addison O'Grady continues to improve rapidly this season, as she netted her fifth game with double-digit scoring. She only had two over the last two seasons.
The Hawks remain dominant in the paint for a sixth straight game of outscoring their opponent in the lane. They finished with 38 to the Cougars 18.
With the dominance in the paint came a season-high in rebounds for Olsen (8), Affolter (8) and freshman guard Taylor Stremlow (6).
The team as a whole ate up the boards, reaching a season-high as a squad with 53 total including 35 defensive and 15 offensive.
The bench for Iowa, which has been a force this season, only contributed 22 points against the Cougars as the Hawks' starters stayed busy.
Next up, the Hawkeyes travel to Mexico to play Rhode Island on Thanksgiving Day. The game, which tips off at 5:30 p.m. CT, is available to stream on FloCollege and the Hawkeye Radio Network.
