IOWA CITY, Iowa β Carver-Hawkeye Arena was jam-packed Sunday afternoon with a sold out crowd filling the seats as Caitlin Clark broke Pete Maravich's NCAA career scoring record.
Entering the game, Clark needed just 18 points to surpass Pistol Pete's all-time NCAA scoring mark of 3,667 points. The arena erupted as Clark broke the record on a second quarter free throw.
Just 17 days prior on Thursday, Feb. 15, Clark broke Kelsey Plum's NCAAW scoring record. Now, she owns the major college scoring record for both men and women.
Sunday's match-up between No. 6 Iowa and No. 2 Ohio State is Clark's final regular season game, after the star guard announced earlier this week that she will forego her final year of eligibility and enter the 2024 WNBA Draft.
A bevy of celebrities were in attendance to witness Clark make history, including Travis Scott, Maya Moore, Lynette Woodard, Nolan Ryan and more.
