Charlie Kolar to miss 'a few weeks' due to broken arm, Ravens say

Following the injury suffered in the fourth quarter of the Monday Night game, the Iowa State alum is expected to miss at least a few weeks.

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Ravens tight end Charlie Kolar suffered a broken arm in the team's 30-23 victory of the Los Angeles Charges on "Monday Night Football."

The former Cyclone is expected to miss multiple weeks, according to Head Coach John Harbaugh. Kolar hasn't missed a game so far this season.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said Kolar suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the game, but still finished the game before getting x-rays.

Although solidifying himself as a great run blocker in a stacked tight end room that includes Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, Kolar has seen career highs this season in receptions with nine and yards with 131. He has also caught a stellar 82% of his targets.

And as many know, Kolar is part of the blocking unit that has seen veteran running back Derrick Henry explode for 1,325 yards so far this season, averaging 6.0 yards per carry in one of his best seasons ever.

In the run-heavy scheme Baltimore thrives in, Kolar has seen his playing time increase steadily over the course of this season before injury. In the victory over the Chargers Monday, he saw a season high 49.2% of offensive snaps.

Many will remember Kolar's game against the Cincinnati Bengals early in the season which saw him break away with an impressive 55-yard catch.

To help offset Kolar's absence in the coming weeks, the Ravens signed tight end Scotty Washington to their practice squad Wednesday.
