IOWA CITY, Iowa — Megan Gustafson just wrapped up her time at the Olympics, but that didn't stop her from making another trip: The former Iowa women's basketball star and current Las Vegas Aces player recently paid a visit to Head Coach Jan Jensen in Iowa City.

In a video posted on X and Instagram, Gustafson is seen surprising Jensen in an office. Gustafson walked through the door holding two cups of coffee, and Jensen was immediately giddy with excitement.

"Are you serious? Oh my god!" Jensen said as she hugged her former player. "I'm crying!"

Gustafson came to Iowa straight from Paris, where she led Spain to the quarterfinals before the team fell to Belgium on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Despite the loss, Gustafson finished the game with a team-high 21 points and seven rebounds.

Based on the video, it doesn't seem like Gustafson is letting the loss get her down. Both Jensen and Gustafson were all smiles when they were reunited.

"There's nothing like being surprised by your GOAT," Jensen said. "I'm so emotional."

"Stop, you're gonna make me cry!" Gustafson responded.

Gustafson played under Jensen and former Head Coach Lisa Bluder for four years, during which time she was named 2019 AP Player of the Year.

The 6'3" center was selected No. 17 overall by the Dallas Wings in the 2019 WNBA Draft. Gustafson joined the Aces in February. Another Hawkeye alum, Kate Martin, joined the team just months later.
