Bronze medalist Brittany Brown chats with Snoop Dogg after 200m women's final

"Y'all made me proud tonight," Snoop said on the call.

SAINT-DENIS-D'OLÉRON, France — The women's 200-meter medalists have a new fan among their ranks: Snoop Dogg.

The rapper called to congratulate the three sprinters on their performances following the race, and the heartwarming conversation was captured on video by the United States Track & Field team account.

"Y'all made me proud tonight," Snoop said on the call.

Gabby Thomas of USA, Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia and both bronze medalist Brittany Brown, a University of Iowa alum, shared a touching moment with the artist. The two bonded over their shared love of Pomona, California.

"Snoop Dogg, I know you had a team in Pomona, California," Brown said, referencing Snoop's youth football league, the Pomona Steelers. "I'm from Pomona!"

Brown finished third in the race with a time of 22.20 seconds. Gabby Thomas of USA won gold at 21.83 seconds, while Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia won silver at 22.08 seconds.

While he's not an Olympian himself, Snoop has been among the stars of the Paris Games: The rap icon carried the Olympic torch, swam with Michael Phelps, danced with Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles and more.

"I want to be active with everything, because I love the American athletes and competition," Snoop told the Associated Press. "This is what I’m here for.”
